The first day of BlizzCon 2009 has ended, and we are ready with a full coverage overview about the stuff that was announced at the first day of the event.

It covers announcements from Diablo 3, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm and Starcraft 2.

Announcement of WoW expansion: World of Warcraft: Cataclysm

The next expansion for World of Warcraft has been announced and is called "Cataclysm".

It will feature:

  • Level Cap: 85
  • Under water mounts
  • New races: Worgen and Goblins
  • New secondary profession: Archaeology
  • Mastery system
  • New dungeons, zones etc
  • Underwater enviroments
  • Allows flying in Azeroth
  • and much more.

Diablo 3


Diablo 3 Monk class revealed

At the Opening Ceremony, Blizzard announced the Monk as the 4th Diablo 3 class, by showing an official Monk trailer and a gameplay video, with a lot of combat action.

Diablo 3 panel:

At the Diablo 3 panel, Blizzard explained their thoughts about the new Monk class, but also revealed some new details about the changes that they have made like to Barbarian fury or runes system.

Starcraft 2:

The biggest news in Starcraft 2 was at the Battle.net / Starcraft 2 panel, where they announced a whole new makeover of battle.net including social networking inside Battle.net. They also talked about the different gamemodes in the game. The big Starcraft 2 announcements will properly come at day 2.
